Children often have to adapt to changes in family life following the breakdown of a relationship. It is important that a familiar routine is established as soon as possible, and ideally that an agreement is reached between parents on how this will work.
Where there are difficulties in reaching an agreement, we encourage our clients to consider all avenues of dispute resolution including mediation, negotiation and court proceedings in an effort to find the most appropriate outcome for the children. We take a child focused view and encourage all parties to do the same.
